Reno Roller Girls LogoBanked Track

Our Banked Track Is Complete!!!

Plans To Bring Banked Track Roller Derby to Reno Are Nearly a Reality....

Although we have considered ourselves a banked track league since we started skating in 2007, we have been forced to skate on a flat track over the past 3 years. Why you ask? Because we have been missing one rather essential element necessary for banked track skating- namely, well....a banked track. Banked tracks are RRREEEEALLLLYYYYY expensive. Really really REEEEALLLLYYYY expensive.

However, after 3 long years of saving, hosting numerous fundraisers and pinching countless pennies (thanks to the relentless money-grubbing-whores we call our leaders)...and after 2 1/2 long months of building (thanks to plans by Kitten Traxx and a phenomenal effort put in by our own team and our awesome sponsors)....it finally lives!!! At last, we can skate on it and touch it and kiss it and hug it and make googly eyes at it....(ahem....sorry, perhaps it seems we're getting a little carried away here.... but we're *IN LOVE* with our track, and we know you will be too when you meet it in person!) *sigh*

Unfortunately, there are many stars that still need aligning in order for us to completely realize our dreams of bringing banked track roller derby to Reno.... we don't only want to own this thing- we also want to skate it regularly while being able to bring the action to YOU, our FANS!!!!

The miscreant, misaligned stars that we speak of include the following:

  1. First and foremost, WE NEED A NEW HOME! (Just in case you didn't get that the other 8 times we mention it on this page). Some track stats: This thing is HUGE!!! It is approximately 100ft long by 60ft wide, and it weighs about 12,000 pounds. It is designed to be moved....but do we want to? Not if we can help it. Old School Roller Derby Track

Derby was really popular from about the 1920s until the 1970s. It is now making a comeback with a style that is less campy and more focused on athletics.

Leagues around the US and other parts of the world are starting to build their own tracks, just like we are.

Old School skaters

Did you know that we'll only be the 8th league in the whole United States to have a track built????

Keep posted for our first bout so you can be part of the action!

We Need A New Home!!

Due to fire safety restrictions, the building we currently rent only allows for about 45 people in the building at one time. This is *not exactly* conducive to hosting bouts....unless we want to move our track each time....which as we mentioned, we really don't.......So, here are the specs:

  • At least 20,000 sqft
  • One large space of at least 80sqft by 120sqft, to accommodate the track
  • No columns preferred; if present we will need to discuss spacing
  • Location not too pricey and offering plenty of nighttime parking
  • Decent emergency systems
  • In Reno, not Sparks (Sparks charges an outrageous yearly event fee)
